PHONE USE at BowCamp
To provide campers with a healthy camp experience - free from the distractions of technology - and opportunities to strengthen their sense of independence, Campers, LITs, and Counsellors are NOT permitted to bring electronic devices (including cell phones) to camp.
Parents may wish to send a cell phone to camp because they want to be able to get in touch with their child in case of an emergency. Please be assured that we will pass along any urgent messages from a parent to their child. In the unlikely event that we need to reach families because of something that happens at camp, we will be in touch as soon as possible.
To that end, we ask that parents support the camp experience by NOT providing a cell phone. If a camper, LIT or Counsellor brings a cell phone with them to camp, then it will be held by the Camp Director until the end of camp.
Land-Line Phone Use
For the same reasons that we do not allow cell phones at camp, campers will not have access to phones in our camp office.
Before you arrive, encourage your camper to speak to their counsellor!
The Camp Director will contact families if any concerns arise including behaviour, health and wellness, and extreme homesickness.
